This year has been a tougher one that most it seems, but Berlin is a city of change and with every challenge, she manages to forge onward with an even greater strength and motivation than before. This New Year’s Eve there will be much to celebrate as a new year dawns. Berlin once again will be putting on many of Europe’s best Silvester parties for locals and visitors alike and we’ve put together a small selection, for those of you still unsure of exactly where to spend your night drinking Champagne and welcoming in a shiny new 2017.
Silvester with Sofitel
We love to celebrate at Le Faubourg Restaurant and Bar and Silvester is the best occasion! Join us for dinner in the Restaurant or for cocktails and Champagne in the bar. Of course it’s not a party without great music and we have one of Berlin’s finest DJs on the decks for your New Year celebration. DJ Jauche is a legend on the scene from Berlin’s heady days of clubs and delirium. His reputation is solid and his career launched from his residencies at Walfisch in the ’90’s. He’s also the brother of Berlin’s favourite doorman Sven Marquardt from Berghain. For Berlin artistry and a sound all his own, check him out here on soundcloud. For more information about Silvester at the hotel or reservations speak to our friendly concierge team, or reserve by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
For the classic Silvester party with a few hundred thousand others, get yourself to the Brandenburg Gate and the famous Fan Mile for a great party atmosphere with a distinctly german vibe. The party zone runs from the Brandenburg Gate down to the Victory Column and more than a million people attend each year. You can even get started early as the Fan Mile party precinct opens at 2pm on Friday 30th December with a warm up party until 8pm for those wanting to miss the New Year’s Eve crowd. For those saving themselves for the big night, gates open at 1pm with live bands and DJs kicking off the entertainment from 7pm. This year’s line up includes some great international acts including Jermaine Jackson, Venga Boys and Bonnie Tyler. Entrance is free – for detailed information and entrance points see the website (only in German but maps are easy to follow). The finale of course is watching the spectacular fireworks above the Quadriga atop the gate. The Brandenburg Gate is also the place to be if you want to wave to friends and family abroad as numerous international TV networks will be broadcasting live from the gate for the big event. More information is available here.
The Fan Mile at the Brandenburg Gate may be the biggest free public party but for a more exclusive option without the family vibe, Silvester in the historic Kulturbrauerei in Prenzlauer Berg is one of Berlin’s most popular parties to ring in the New Year. One ticket gives you access to a live band and 30 DJs across 15 floors and the party continues well into the new year as you wander from venue to venue all in the one precinct. Tickets can be pre-purchased online and although there is plenty of space, it will sell out so get in fast!
The Pearl Bar & Club
If you don’t want to venture far from the hotel, but want all the glamour and spectacle of a night in Las Vegas, then there is a very special experience to had this Silvester at the The Pearl Bar and Club in Kantstrasse. Entertainment will be provided in the form of a musical retrospective by Berlin’s Palina La Diva and DJ Reaf. There’ll be some cool Hip Hop vibes up until midnight, multiple dance floors and classics from various genres with DJ Reeno to take you into 2017. Of course what’s a Vegas theme without a little gambling? There will be casino games all night with Pearl Dollars for each guest on entry. Tickets are available online here.
